Based on the fact that inflammatory chemokines play a deterministic role in ALS progression in mice8 and humans26, we reasoned that a combinatorial therapy consisting of IL-10 and an anti-chemokine agent could have an additive synergistic positive effect in disease onset and progression by targeting multiple neuroinflammatory pathways in the CNS of SOD1-G93A mice. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
