Recently, PTEN/p53-deficient prostate cancer cells were found to exhibit increased expression of HK2, in which PTEN loss activated the AKT-mTORC1-4EBP1 axis to increase HK2 mRNA translation and loss of p53 inhibited miR-143 biogenesis to enhance HK2 mRNA stability. Here, TP53 is linked to prostate cancer.
