When compared within each time period, during ≤D5 post-bacteremia, IL-6 and IL-10 levels were significantly higher in SAB patients who died within 30 d (median [IQR], 58.43 [19.12–305.07] vs 11.69 [6.19–21.51] pg/mL, p = 0.010 and 7.15 [1.99–15.46] vs 2.08 [0.90–3.50] pg/mL, p = 0.021, respectively) than in the SAB survivors. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
