TLR7 and COVID-19: Recent studies regarding whole-genome sequencing of SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2 has demonstrated that the SARS-CoV-2 genome contains many ssRNA motifs that could interact with TLR7, indicating that TLR7 signaling might be relevant in the pathogenesis of COVID-19 [27] and our study provides an insight into the molecular mechanisms of the anti-viral innate immune response activated by TLR7.
