In former athletes who applied the reducing daily caloric intake by 30% of TDEE and lowered their body mass by 1.5–2.5 kg, 2.5–3.0 kg, and over 3.0 kg, a significant improvement in lipids (total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides), insulin level, and homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was observed.
