IGHE and Allergy: Due to their widespread distribution in edible seeds and fruits, legume lectins and class I chitinases should be investigated in legume seed allergies (peanut, kidney bean, soybean, lentil, pea) and fruit allergies (banana, avocado, mango, kiwi, chestnut), using natural or recombinant lectins as molecular probes, in addition to rHev b 6.02, which is currently available for the IgE-mediated allergy diagnosis.
