Several peroxisome-related proteins (such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor beta2B, peroxisomal proliferator-activated receptor A-interacting complex, peroxisomal 2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase, peroxisomal 3,2-trans-enoyl-CoA isomerase, peroxisomal membrane protein PEX13, peroxisomal coenzyme A diphosphatase NUDT7, and Lon protease homolog 2, as listed in Table S1) were found exclusively or increased in propagation, thus suggesting P. salmonis could be specifically altering this organelle as part of its infection strategy. Here, NUDT7 is linked to infection.
