Because of this complex multifaceted role of TGF‐β in both liver microenvironmental cells and tumor cells, and because of its expression in the liver by multiple cell types, TGF‐β can have a leading role in liver metastasis formation and can pose as a suitable target for anti‐cancer treatment, tackling multiple facets of metastasis formation.
