Knockdown or pharmacological inhibition of ANO1 in ZR75-1 and HCC1954 breast cancer cell lines resulted in a decreased phosphorylation of EGFR at Y992 as well as of phosphorylation of downstream signaling molecules - ERK1/2, AKT and calmodulin kinase II (CaMKII) under normal growth conditions (Britschgi et al., 2013). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and breast carcinoma.
