ANO1 and glioma: Overexpression of ANO1 in human astrocyte SVGp12 cells resulted in a decreased phosphorylation of NFκB inhibitor, IκB, accumulation of NFκB in the nucleus and activation of NFκB-dependent gene transcription; whereas knockdown of ANO1 in glioma U87MG cells inhibited NFκB activation (Liu et al., 2014).
