Like IL-6 related markers and chemokines/cytokines, KI67 and Cyclin D1 dysregulation is an indicator of many different liver conditions including hepatocellular carcinoma (Salama et al., 2019), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (Dey et al., 2019), chronic alcohol exposure (Chavez et al., 2011), and liver injury (Inomata et al., 2018). Here, MKI67 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
