ADH1B and oropharynx cancer: When we removed the ADH1B variant found to be an outlier in the univariable MR analysis, the independent effects of both smoking and alcohol on risk of oral/oropharyngeal cancer persisted remained, although the magnitude of the effect was reduced for alcohol (IVW OR 2.1, 95% CI = 1.1, 3.8) (Table 3, Fig. 3).
