While not included in the loci identified in the studies of Shi et al. [9] or Day et al. [10], the earlier study of Chen et al. identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) mapping to the leptin receptor (LEPR) gene to be associated with PCOS [8], indicating contribution of LEPR to PCOS susceptibility. The gene discussed is LEPR; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
