The results showed that the expression of E-cadherin in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells co-cultured with CD133+ HPCs (0.15 ± 0.08, 0.3 ± 0.11 respectively) was significantly lower than that co-cultured with CD133- HPCs (0.51 ± 0.15, 0.8 ± 0.17 respectively) and in breast cancer cells alone (0.49 ± 0.13, 0.83 ± 0.11 respectively, P < 0.05).
