There is some evidence to suggest that YAP1 is retained in the cytoplasm by AKT phosphorylation (Basu et al., 2003) or through binding LATS1 (Matallanas et al., 2007), and YAP1 functions as an oncogene which can promote CRC progression by activating the ERK/PI3K-AKT signaling pathway (Wang et al., 2017; Zhang et al., 2016). The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
