Interestingly, there is evidence to show that COX-2 can mediate some of the tumour promoting effects of LPA because in ovarian carcinoma cells, LPA-induced migration was attenuated following treatment with NS-398, a COX-2 inhibitor (Symowicz et al., 2005) and the LPAR2-Gi/Src pathway promoted cell motility via COX-2 expression (Jeong et al., 2008).
