In summary, an increase in the IL-6 level to five times the upper limit of normal; an NLR of >3.13; a peripheral blood lymphocyte count of <500 × 106/L; and significantly increased serum levels of IL-2R, IL-8, IFN-γ, and IP-10 may be indicators of SIRS.
