Importantly, we found that photoinhibition of LPBNCaMKIIα or LPBNVgluT2 neurons did not affect the total distance moved and the ratio of time spent in the periphery and center of the open field in Sham-operated or CPN-ligated mice, suggesting that the locomotor and anxiety levels were not altered by optogenetic manipulation (Figs. 4h–m, 5g–k).
