Although bevacizumab is the most widely investigated anti-VEGF agent and is currently recommended by the NCCN as the preferred anti-VEGF mAb considering its more favorable cost and side-effect profile, other anti-VEGF agents, including aflibercept (an anti-VEGF fusion protein) and ramucirumab (an anti-VEGFR2 mAb) have been studied and are acceptable alternatives in the first-line treatment of unresectable metachronous CRC metastases [4].
