LGALS3 and myocardial infarction: In a subgroup of patients, Di Tano et al. showed that in patients with previous myocardial infarction and primary angioplasty, Gal-3 was associated with a higher rate of ventricular remodeling at 1 and 6 months [145], while Gal-3 dosing at 30 days in patients with a first myocardial infarction, treated by angioplasty, showed an increased predictive value in terms of systolic and diastolic ventricular dysfunction [146].
