Concerning other laboratory findings: serum calcitonin was elevated in both patients with medullary thyroid cancer, while chromogranin A was elevated in 6 patients: in 4 patients with NET (2 with pulmonary carcinoid and 2 with pancreatic NET) and 1 with pheochromocytoma and 1 with ovarian carcinoma.
