Mutations in Dnmt3a expression have been implicated as disease-initiating mutations in hematologic malignancies and are among the most common mutations found in disease pathologies, including pre-AML mutations in HSCs (Corces-Zimmerman et al., 2014; Jan et al., 2012; Ley et al., 2010; Yang et al., 2015) and in CHIP (Jaiswal et al., 2017; Jaiswal et al., 2014). The gene discussed is DNMT3A; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
