The patients’ levels of proinflammatory and infection-related biomarkers (including TNF-α, IL-6, procalcitonin, and C-reactive protein), organ damage indices (leukocyte, neutrophil, and lactate dehydrogenase), coagulation-related indices (D-dimer, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin times), and N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptides (NT-proBNP) were significantly related to the severity of COVID-19 in cancer patients; these results were also confirmed by another study [21]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and cancer.
