Intriguingly, by integrating specific genes, miRNA expression patterns, and transcriptional profiles, we found that breast cancer patients with high SPAG5 expression exhibit an activated YAP/TAZ signature, implying that aberrant activation of the two key transducers either independently or dependently from their role in the Hippo pathway enhances SPAG5’s oncogenic activity. The gene discussed is SPAG5; the disease is breast carcinoma.
