In contrast, in the non-diabetic patients, the levels of CD19+CD24+CD38− primarily memory B cells were significantly high in the three patients’ groups (CHC-N, CHC-LC, and CHC-HCC) in comparison with the controls (mean, 26.6 ± 3, 33.4 ± 4, 31.6 ± 4 vs. 14.3 ± 3, p = 0.009, p < 0.0001, p = 0.001, respectively), with no significant differences among the three non-diabetic groups of patients. Here, CD38 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
