As shown in Table 3, irrespective of the presence of diabetes, the percentage of CD19+CD24hiCD38hi Immature/transitional B cells (from CD19+ B cells) was elevated in the CHC-N, CHC-LC and CHC-HCC patients than the healthy controls (mean, 11.2 ± 1, 13.2 ± 1, 12.5 ± 1 vs. 7.7 ± 2, p = 0.07, p = 0.007, p = 0.02, respectively). The gene discussed is CD19; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
