Therefore, we examined ALLO and GABA levels as well as GABRA4 expression levels in the emotion-related brain region, the hippocampus; the results showed decreased ALLO and GABA levels and increased GABRA4 expression levels in the model group, consistent with the viewpoint that GABA-mediated neuronal activity is inhibited in patients with depression [39].
