In order to give first insights into the mutational status of (putative) key components of the SWI/SNF complex in squamous bladder cancers (for study design see Supplementary Figure S1), carcinomas with histologically squamous differentiation (n = 3 pure SCC and n = 42 MIX) of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were analyzed for genetic alterations of seven frequently affected subunits of the SWI/SNF complexes BAF and PBAF [11,12].
