The GPS was significantly associated with age (p = 0.005), body mass index (BMI, p = 0.010), albumin (p < 0.001), CRP (p < 0.001), operative procedure (p = 0.013), tumor size (p < 0.001), tumor depth (p < 0.001), lymph node metastasis (p = 0.023), pathological Tumor-Node-Metastasis or pTNM stage (p < 0.001), and postoperative complications (p < 0.001). Here, CRP is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
