NCAM1 and dengue disease: Homchampa et al. found evidence of NK cell cytotoxicity in children with acute dengue that correlated to disease severity (Homchampa et al., 1988) and later increased frequencies of circulating activated CD56+ CD69+ NK cells was observed in pediatric patients from Thailand with severe dengue disease as compared to patients with milder disease (Chen R. et al., 1999).
