The principal findings obtained in our study are as follows: (1) the expression of phosphorylated ASK1 was upregulated in Ang II-induced liver fibrosis and under conditions of ERS in vitro, (2) an ASK1 inhibitor (GS-4997) significantly reversed Ang II-induced liver fibrosis and ERS in vitro, and (3) ASK1-mediated ERS-induced exosome release was involved in Ang II-induced liver fibrosis in vitro. The gene discussed is AGT; the disease is Hepatic fibrosis.
