Our analysis found that the expression of genes known to be associated with aging phenotypes, such as S100a8 and Txnip, is significantly down‐regulated in Rosi‐treated tissues, consistent with previous data demonstrating that these genes are modulated by TZDs in animal models of insulin resistance and diabetic nephropathy (Qi et al., 2009). The gene discussed is TXNIP; the disease is diabetic kidney disease.
