NAA20 and hepatocellular carcinoma: In this study, we provide evidence further supporting previous reports that Naa20 acts as an oncogenic factor, as well as an autophagy suppressor in HCC cell lines11–15 and, importantly, propose a novel and plausible mechanism responsible for that activity: Naa20 inhibits AMPK activity to promote the mTOR signaling pathway, which contributes to tumorigenesis and autophagy.
