A recent study, led in liver biopsies from anti-HBc-positive/HBsAg-negative patients (without HIV-infection), showed that an anti-HBc IgG value >4.4 COI can predict the presence of intrahepatic cccDNA [25], supporting the role of this biomarker in reflecting the intrahepatic HBV reservoir. This evidence concerns the gene KRT88P and HIV infectious disease.
