A weaker and more diffuse NIS expression was observed in the internal areas of the tumors (ratio=1.61, p <0.005, supplementary Fig. 1(A)), associated with lower percentages of Ki-67–positive tumor cells (Fig. 2(G)) (2.38% versus 18.61% for the internal and external areas, respectively p<0.001, supplementary Fig. (1B)). This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and neoplasm.
