MYD88 and Insulin resistance: In the liver, LPS binds to Toll‐like receptors located on the membrane of hepatic cells and activates key signalling pathways, such as the myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88 (MyD88),17 directly inducing the transcription of pro‐inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) and tumour necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α), which then favours the insulin resistance.18
