We found that PTEN expression in PMA-treated THP-1 cells administered exosomes derived from CRC cells transfected with anti-miR-934 vectors or miR-934 mimics was apparently higher or lower, respectively, than that in the respective control groups (Fig. 5e, f), suggesting that exosome-derived miR-934 can downregulate PTEN expression by targeting its 3′-UTR and activating the PI3K/AKT pathway in PMA-treated THP-1 cells. The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
