Genetic aberrations in SCN5A have been associated with different types of arrhythmias and diseases including Brugada syndrome (BrS), long-QT syndrome (LQTS), sick-sinus-syndrome (SSS), atrial fibrillation (AF), dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and non-cardiac diseases as for example epilepsy. This evidence concerns the gene SCN5A and cardiac arrhythmia.
