Differentiated 3D5 human neuroblastoma-derived cells overexpressing α-syn show increased levels of GRP78/BiP and phospho-EIF2α [123] in basal conditions, and tunicamycin-induced ER stress leads to accumulation of oligomeric α-syn [123], indicating that ER stress may feed α-syn aggregation and toxicity. This evidence concerns the gene HSPA5 and neuroblastoma.
