Owing to the central role HSF1 plays in coping with stresses that disrupt protein homeostasis, HSF1 is of great interest in neurodegenerative diseases that arise from chronic protein misfolding including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease (HD) (5, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33). This evidence concerns the gene HSF1 and juvenile Huntington disease.
