Literature and other studies confirm that this kinase, a member of the CaMK family, may play a role in promoting metastasis in lung and colorectal cancers via induction by the transcription factor NF-kappaB.61, 62, 63 CaMK members CHEK2, TRIB2, STK17A, and STK17B are also shown to correlate with TNM staging, further highlighting the potential clinical use for CaMKs as novel cancer targets (Table S7). The gene discussed is TRIB2; the disease is colorectal cancer.
