Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), including pembrolizumab [1–4], nivolumab [5–7], and atezolizumab [8–10], alone or in combination with chemotherapy, have been approved for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as later-line [1, 5–9] and first-line treatments [2–4, 10].
