ITGB2 and cancer: HSC3 cells cultured in CM-CAFs-shITGB2 resulted in decreased NADH, which was accompanied by reduced LDHA and LDHC protein expression levels compared with those of the control cells, whereas adding lactate reversed these effects, indicating lactate from ITGB2 expressing CAFs was oxidized by nearby cancer cells and generated NADH (Fig. 7C).
