The analysis of coexistence of sputum eosinophilia (>3%), high sputum periostin, and high sputum TSLP concentration (above the median value of the control group), showed that almost 64% patients with asthma had increased sputum eosinophilia with concomitant elevated levels of IS periostin and TSLP (Figure 3). The gene discussed is TSLP; the disease is asthma.
