T1DM patients had significantly higher TNF-α levels as compared to controls (pg/mL, median: 9.7, range = 5.3 to 27.1 vs. 7.1, range = 5.6 to 15.5, p < 0.001) and a significantly higher proportion of high-risk patients based on TNF-alpha values (80.8%, vs. 12.1%, OR = 30.45, p < 0.001). Here, TNF is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
