Polybromo 1, (PBRM1), also known as BAF180, is encoded in a gene locus near VHL and is a component of the PBAF complex, a mammalian SWItch/Sucrose Non-Fermentable (SWI/SNF) complex, which is a tumor suppressor protein that is thought to become mutated early in RCC pathogenesis [9]. This evidence concerns the gene PBRM1 and renal cell carcinoma.
