This is further supported by the evidence that anthrafurandiones (ATFD) analogues [4,11-bis(2-aminoethylamino)anthra [2,3-b]furan-5,10-dione] and their analogs, anthrathiophenediones (ATPD) [4,11-bis(2-aminoethylamino)anthrax [2,3-b]thiophene-5,10-dione], repress translation by targeting KRAS mRNA, which strongly decreases the expression of KRAS protein in cancer cells (Figure 4B,C) [61]. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is cancer.
