The results indicated a protective effect of serum iron (OR 0.993; 95% CI 0.987-0.999; P = 0.02), ferritin (OR 0.986; 95% CI 0.974-0.999; P = 0.03), and transferrin saturation (OR 0.995; 95% CI 0.991-0.999; P = 0.03) in the male population on the risk of coronary atherosclerosis, except for serum transferrin (see Figure 2). This evidence concerns the gene TF and coronary atherosclerosis.
