Inappropriate activation of innate immune receptors, such as endosomal TLR7 or TLR9, promotes several autoimmune diseases, including psoriasis (Rahmani and Rezaei, 2016), a skin inflammatory disease that has been associated with single nucleotide mutations (A763T, A609T) in the Lnpep gene coding for IRAP. The gene discussed is LNPEP; the disease is psoriasis.
