CRP and Sepsis: As expected, inflammatory markers including white blood count (WBC; 14.9 vs. 9.1 g/L, p = 0.011), CRP (213 vs. 12 mg/l, p < 0.0001; normal range <5 mg/l), and PCT (8.8 vs. 0.15 ng/ml, p < 0.0001) were higher in sepsis patients compared to ICU controls.
