GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), a new type of hypoglycemic drug, can not only increase insulin secretion, suppress appetite, and control weight by activating GLP-1 receptors (Vilsboll et al., 2012; McAdam-Marx et al., 2014), they can also control hyperglycemia by inhibiting glucagon secreted by islet α cells (Meier, 2012). This evidence concerns the gene GCG and Hyperglycemia.
