Transcriptomic analysis has shown also down-regulation of TRIM33 (FC: -2.52) or ubiquitin protein ligase, which is a transcriptional intermediary factor that in humans is expressed in high amounts in the lungs and in the brain, and was found to restrain HIV-1 infection intracellularly by targeting viral integrase for proteasomal degradation. The gene discussed is TRIM33; the disease is HIV-1 infection.
